The Big Question Mark Over Facebook’s Graph Search: Mobile

January 17, 2013—The switch to “native” apps and the implication of fault with HTML5 masked a deeper problem, uncovered by the mobile app framework Sencha. In late 2012, Sencha took a closer look at the hybrid, HTML5 app that Facebook had first made, replicating it, then noticing that Facebook’s original mobile app essentially made more calls back to a server than it needed to when, for instance, rendering features of the Facebook interface.
