Sencha Raises $15 Million for HTML5
October 25, 2011—Sencha Inc., which makes software for developing web-based applications for both desktop and mobile environments, has received another $15 million in a second round of funding led by Jafco Ventures, with participation from prior investors Sequoia Capital and Radar Partners. Redwood City-based Sencha, which is betting heavily on the HTML5 framework for Internet applications, previously raised a $14 million first round from Sequoia and Radar, announced in June 2010. Joe Horowitz, managing general partner of Jafco Ventures, will join the Sencha board of directors.
