We were on the road again last week to show off Sencha Test, Architect 3.5, theming, and share a sneak peek at our Ext JS Roadmap during Roadshow 2016. We made stops in Melbourne, Seoul, and Tokyo. Jeff Pope, Vice President of the APAC Region, kicked off the events with a warm welcome to attendees. We had Don Griffin, our Director of Engineering, members of our local Sencha teams, and myself available to answer questions about Sencha frameworks and tools and share our Ext JS Roadmap.

We talked to more than 125 developers at the Seoul event. They were excited to hear about the roadmap.

Customer presentations were a highlight of the events. In Melbourne, Gerald Gierer showed how his company, Giernan IT Solutions, uses Sencha frameworks to build sophisticated enterprise web apps.

In Seoul, YH Yoo, our Korea Country Manager, welcomed our customers and partners. Byeongok Lee and Muhyung Park of Mirae Web, Sungjun Lee of Onycom, and Sungkyo Jung of Vinflux discussed how they use Ext JS and Sencha Cmd to build enterprise-ready web applications including an enterprise logistics solution and a technical documentation localization project.

In Tokyo, Hideya Kudaka, our Japan Country Manager, welcomed our customers and partners. Yoshikazu Kuroki of Sompo Japan Nipponkoa Insurance Service Inc. shared a case study on information dissemination and management strategy using agile development and Ext JS.

Don answered lots of questions about Sencha Test and Ext JS.

Don gave developers a clear picture of the new tools and capabilities that are currently under development at Sencha including: D3 integration, grid enhancements, a new calendar component, and our plans to support ECMAScript 6 in Ext JS. This gave attendees a chance to provide their feedback and feature recommendations, which help us to prioritize next-gen features for tools and Ext JS.

Don also provided details about Sencha Test, a new product that’s quickly gaining traction because it enables developers to test their Ext JS applications and create high quality applications faster.

My presentation was on Ext JS Design Concepts. I covered fundamentals of theming an Ext JS app, and I showed developers how to rapidly theme any Ext JS 6 application by changing the most powerful Sass variables. I also demonstrated how to quickly theme any Sencha Architect application using Architect Quick Theme capabilities, and I shared updates and the roadmap for the newly released Architect 3.5 that supports Ext JS 6 Classic Toolkit. Architect support for Ext JS Modern Toolkit will be available in the next 90 days.
